Rugby player Gurthrö Steenkamp is a 2011 TBS graduate

At 37, Gurthrö Steenkamp, ​​world champion with Springbocks and former loosehead prop of the French rugby club Stade Toulousain (Toulouse), is embarking on a new adventure. Taking an early retirement from his career, the South African has begun a coaching career with the goal of training a professional team.

Freshly graduated from the Toulouse Business School, Gurthrö's goal was to prepare for his career change.

A year and a half after hanging up his cleats, the South African has embarked on physical preparation. TBS helped him develop his project and he created his own company "Steenkamp Sport".

The former loosehead prop puts his high-level experience at the disposal of players. Today, he trains first lines throughout Europe; his students are professionals or amateurs who have the ambition to improve in their positions.

Motivation, surpassing oneself - Gurthrö Steenkamp is a demanding coach. His ambition is to manage a team of Pro D2 or Top 14. To put luck on his side, he is taking a coaching diploma at CREPS Toulouse. Having lived in France with his family for 8 years, the South African wants to continue working in the country that has welcomed him and where he feels good and to put some of his vision of the game into a tricoloured rugby that he appreciates and hopes to see progress.
