Hakim ATOUI (TBS 2015) 29-09-2020: His documentary film LA PREMIÈRE MARCHE premieres in Toulouse!
The first pride march in a working-class suburb!
For his first documentary film, LA PREMIÈRE MARCHE, Hakim ATOUI (TBS 2015), decided to tackle a current and divisive topic in society.
On June 9, 2019, four students led the first suburban Pride March in Saint-Denis. 50 years after Stonewall, they imposed the LGBT struggle where no one had wanted to imagine it.
"A hectic immersion among pride organizers and suburbanites. The issues of intersectionality and inclusivity of struggles are clearly laid out. The young activists are brimming with communicative energy in a documentary full of conviction and commitment, inspiring a desire for unity in the face of oppression. "
The Gaumont Wilson Toulouse cinema will be showing a national preview this Tuesday, September 29, starting at 7:30pm.
The screening will be followed by a meeting with the directors (Hakim Atoui & Baptiste Etchegaray) and members of the association organizing the Marche des fiertés en banlieue.

About the two directors:
The first, Hakim Atoui, fell into the world of cinema at a very young age when he saw a TV broadcast of Tim Burton's Edward aux Mains d'Argent. After studying at TBS, and gaining experience in distribution with Studiocanal, Warner Bros. Pictures and Disney, the young man turned to directing short films, including Scred, in 2017, which already revolved around the issue of homosexuality in the suburbs.
As for Baptiste Etchegaray, this journalist, who has worked for the likes of France Inter, Arte and Canal+, is a cinema enthusiast. He has also written a documentary series for France Inter, Les corps intermédiaires, about romantic encounters in the digital age.
